To this day, Winston’s legacy has an impact on the people of the Middle East, and those who oppose the neo-colonial project are being brutally persecuted. It should be remembered, however, that the locals allowed themselves to be led to ruin by power-obsessed dictators from their own ranks.

These few excerpts from the real post-war history should be enough to illustrate the vile, “fiduciary” hustle and bustle. The leaders of the victorious powers had let all their inhibitions go and helped themselves, laying the foundations for the next armed struggle. The Russian people who suffered the consequences of the war and the Bolshevik Revolution, could not participate but were amply represented by Poland. Alexander Solzhenitsyn reported in much detail what was happening in Russia in – The Gulag Archipelago. 1974. 
“In 1927, when our brains had not yet been completely softened by blind obedience“… there was still resistance… although Lenin, in order to establish a ‘strict revolutionary order’, demanded the ‘relentless relegation of all anarchist attempts on the part of various drunkards, hooligans, counter-revolutionaries and other persons’ … this purge was organized like a competition among regional Chekists. In local authorities, initiatives of the most evil kind were called for, with the logical consequences...Whole nations were pumped through the drain pipes and in addition millions and millions of returnees from captivity and forced labor… However, we have failed to mention that the concept of guilt as such had already been abolished in the proletarian revolution… so that we can no longer speculate on such backward concepts as guilt and innocence…It sounds paradoxical: all the energy for their many years of work was drawn from the all-pervading and tirelessly guarded organ, from a single paragraph of the total of one hundred and forty-eight, which were contained in the non-general part of the Penal Code of 1926… the great, mighty, luxuriant, wide-ranging, diverse, clean and spruced up paragraph 58… There is certainly no crime under the sun, no intention, no act and no inaction, which could not be reached and punished by the strict arm of paragraph 58… It was impossible to articulate such a broad formulation, but it was possible to interpret it in such a broad fashion.”

One cannot help noticing that the “softened brain” syndrome mentioned above, among the gullible and the obedient, is prevalent in Central Europe these days. (2015 – 2020) Likewise, the application of “creative interpretation” of paragraphs in law, is very much in fashion these days. Solzhenitsyn had been working on the Gulag Archipelago secretly since 1958, among other works, under the watchful eye of the Russian secret service. The West had embraced him early on and awarded him the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1970. When the Gulag was published in 1973, it quickly rose to become one of the most influential books of the 20th century. In 1974, he was expelled from Russia and was welcomed with open arms in the West. The enthusiasm, however, quickly eased when he expressed his opinion on the western “way of life”. At Harvard University in 1978, he said, “Mediocrity triumphs behind a curtain of restrictions, and it’s time to defend, not so much human rights in the West, as human obligations.”  Now that did not go down well, to question the golden calf – human rights – was not allowed. When he then examined the perpetrators and operators of the communist Holocaust, the establishment was not amused. After years of eulogies, they could not respond with a slander campaign. Instead, he was ignored into oblivion. The Deep State has deep pockets and manages such maneuvers with ease. Henchmen in the media, politics and academic institutions did the dirty work.
